Brian White Seeking Re-Election

A one-term Sarnia councillor is running for one of the four dual city/county council seats in this fall's municipal election.

After first being elected to council in 2014, Brian White is looking to represent the city on a county level.

White calls the past term a "progressive" four years. He says they've inspired a number of important investments in the community.

"From St. Peter's school to Bayside Mall, to Devine St. school, and two Tri-Car properties in downtown alone as well as Sarnia General Hospital," says White. "I think we've signalled to the community abroad that we are open for business and that this community is an opportunity to grow your investment."

If re-elected, White says his focus will be on the continued growth of the city, especially in the Mitton Village area.

He wants to see the reinvention of space and allow Sarnia to become a "walkable" community.

Despite some community concerns about "infighting" on council, White believes they functioned at a high level and served the community very well over the past four years.

He says it will be important to move forward and set positive examples in the future.

The municipal election is October 22.
