Bike Lane Project Nearing Completion

Old lane markings are now being removed from Sarnia's cycling routes as the bike lane project nears completion.

Transportation Manager David Jackson says crews will be blasting with baking soda and using a grinding method to mitigate dust in the air.

He says the work will be done off and on for the next few weeks and it is expected to take about four days total to complete.

All of the roads will be open to traffic during that time.

The routes are Colborne Rd., Capel St., Russell St. (from Maxwell St. to London Rd.), and Cathcart Blvd. (from Christina St. to Colborne Rd.)

The improvements were possible, in part, by a $590,000 grant from the Ontario Municipal Commuter Cycling Program.
