Baby Kylee Needs Your Help

A Sarnia mother is asking for help to get her six-month-old daughter the treatment she needs.

Baby Kylee was diagnosed with Torticollis and Deformational Plagiocephaly on July 10, a condition that causes deformity and developmental delays.

Her mother, Terri Lynn Gardner, says she's trying to raise $3,000 to help with treatment costs. That includes a cranial helmet that Kylee would wear for 23 hours a day which costs $2,400.

Gardner says she'll need the helmet for a minimum of six months.

"So her head is extremely tilted and it's causing a lot of pressure on the back of her head. It's caused her head to become completely flat, almost like a ski slope," says Gardner. "Without the cranial helmet it can start to deform her face and it can become asymmetrical."

Gardner says without the helmet the odds of Kylee's face becoming deformed are very high.

She says they're running out of time to raise the necessary funds.

"We have a deadline on July 26. Kylee has her first appointment in London, and we need to have the first half of the payment of $1,200 before they will even do her measurements," says Gardner.

The remaining $400 is for other medical costs and transportation to and from London.
