Crime Spree Leads To 16 Charges

A Wyoming man is facing 16 charges following a two-day crime spree.

Lambton OPP investigated several break and enters and thefts in Point Edward, Forest, Wyoming and Plympton Township between July 9 and 10.

Police say a vehicle was also taken in one of the residential break and enters.

Around 8:30am Tuesday, an OPP officer spotted the stolen vehicle on Lakeshore Rd. in Plympton Township, and was able to stop it in the Bright’s Grove shopping plaza parking lot.

A 39-year-old Wyoming man was arrested. Police say items related to previous thefts were identified and seized as well as the stolen vehicle.

Gary Allan Cook is charged with five counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, two counts possession of a stolen credit card, trespassing by night, break and enter, theft under $5,000, theft of a vehicle over $5,000, failing to comply with a probation order and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
