Public Wi-Fi Being Installed Along Waterfront

It's been a very busy summer so far for Bluewater Regional Networks, installing its fibre network to commercial and institutional customers.

Vice President of Operations Chris Gould says they continue to grow along major thoroughfares in Sarnia and Point Edward.

"We're continuing to close gaps in the city and the customer response has been fantastic so our installations continue," says Gould. "Our operations crew, they're doing a fantastic job getting to all the customers that are interested in having us. It's quite a job, it's quite an undertaking but it's a pretty exciting opportunity for us."

Gould says the fibre backbone is about 90% completed in the commercial corridor area in Point Edward, and it's hoped that public Wi-Fi will be up and running along the village's waterfront by the end of this summer.

He says the capital commercial corridor build is on schedule to be completed by the fall.

Bluewater Regional Networks continues to investigate the possibility of expanding to residential service in the future.
