Municipal Election Race Heats Up

There are now two people in the running for four city/county councillor positions in the October municipal election.

Graham Pedregosa has filed his nomination papers, joining incumbent Andy Bruziewicz.

Mr. Pedregosa is a lifelong Sarnia resident and is co-founder of TMRRW Inc., a local Creative Agency and Marketing Company.

Pedregosa says Sarnia is a great community to grow up in, to grow old in and to raise a family, but council must be more responsive to the public.

Although only 25 signatures are needed on nomination papers, the young entrepreneur received 400 endorsements.

Seven people have filed their papers for the four city council positions: Gregory Jones, David Waters, Peter Athanasopoulos, Marie Timperley, Dave Potts, Susan Theresa MacFarlane and Eric Dalziel.

Anne Marie Gillis is the only person thus far to declare her intention to run for mayor.

Voting begins at 9am on October 11 and runs until October 22.

The nomination deadline is July 27.
