Bailey Ready For New Role In Doug Ford Government

Sarnia-Lambton's MPP will be overseeing Service Ontario as part of his new responsibilities in Doug Ford's PC government.

Bob Bailey recently was named Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Government and Consumer Relations, Prince Edward-Hastings MPP Todd Smith.

Bailey says he'll be busy.

"We have everything from the Ontario motor vehicle, to the travel industry, real estate, condominiums and the Ontario One Call -- which I'm very familiar with because that's my legislation -- funeral homes and cemeteries," says Bailey.

Bailey says he looks forward to cleaning up passport, birth certificate and health card issues.

"If there's resources that people need at Service Ontario and other agencies we're responsible for, I'm going to do everything I can do with Minister Smith to make sure they're available."

Premier Doug Ford made 21 appointments to his cabinet and named 26 parliamentary assistants from his 76-member caucus.

Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton is Ontario's new Infrastructure Minister.
