The Sarnia-Lambton community is mourning the loss of an integral part of the local sports scene.
Bonnie Young passed away on Thursday at Bluewater Health at the age of 78.
She was President of the Sarnia Minor Athletic Association in the 1980s and 90s, and volunteered with the organization for over 40 years.
Bonnie was known as an avid sports fan, especially for the Sarnia Sting and Toronto Blue Jays. She was a member of the Sting Booster Club for over 20 seasons.
Bonnie was inducted into the Sarnia-Lambton Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home at 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, July 8, 2018, from 6pm until 8pm.
A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11am. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to SMAA or the charity of your choice.
