Guilty Plea In Jonathan Pike Murder

A 32-year-old Sarnia man has been sentenced to life in prison with no eligibility for parole for ten years in the death of Jonathan Pike.

Lee Joseph Dion pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Sarnia's Superior Court of Justice Tuesday.

Court heard that the 26-year-old Pike was shot five times but the murder weapon was not found.

His body was discovered March 25, 2016 in a wooded area west of Tashmoo Ave.

An agreed statement of facts indicates Pike, Dion and Warren Eric Williams were involved in the drug trade, and had driven together in a truck to Tashmoo Ave.

A 911 call was made by someone who heard gunshots at about 1:30am.

While second-degree murder carries a life sentence, ten years is the minimum for parole eligibility which in Dion's case will be reduced to eight and a half years when pre-sentence custody is taken into account.

A murder charge against Williams was withdrawn last August, and a charge of accessory after the fact against Victoria Burridge of Sarnia was withdrawn in April 2017.
