Man Charged After Vehicle Plunges Into Creek

A 22-year-old man has been charged with the careless operation of a motor vehicle after his car ended up in the waterway just east of Airport Rd. near Jackson Rd.

The Sarnia Police Service responded to the area at around 2:15 am Monday, May 21 and believe the driver lost control as he turned off Airport Rd. onto Jackson Rd., striking the guard rail and flipping over into the water.

Police say he managed to get out of the vehicle, and called 911 from a nearby residence. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The vehicle was eventually removed from the water on Tuesday, May 22.
