Sarnia Sting Agree To Terms With Perreault

The Sarnia Sting have agreed to terms with 2018 first round pick Jacob Perreault.

The 16-year-old centre, who was chosen 19th overall in the OHL draft, has signed a Standard Player Agreement and Education package.

Perreault recently led his Chicago Mission U16 team to a USA Hockey National Championship this past April.

Sarnia Sting GM Nick Sinclair is thrilled.

“This is a very exciting day for the Sting organization," says Sinclair. "Jacob is a special player and we are thrilled to be able to add him to our team. He plays the game with intelligence and sees the ice extremely well. He possesses a dynamic skill-set and ability to produce offence. Jacob plays with a high level of compete that is infectious amongst teammates.

“Jacob plays an exciting game in which Sting fans are going to love to watch. On behalf of myself and the entire organization, I’d like to officially welcome him and the Perreault family to the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club,” adds Sinclair.

The highly skilled forward led the High-Performance Hockey League (HPHL) in both goals and points this past season, racking up an impressive 14 goals and 11 assists in 25 games played.

The 5'11'', 195 lbs Perreault had 50 points in 47 games overall this season.

Jacob is the son of former National Hockey League forward Yanic Perreault, and is scheduled to suit up for Team HNO in the upcoming OHL Gold Cup, beginning May 3 in Kitchener.

Sting fans can get their first glimpse of Perreault in the black and gold when Orientation Camp that opens at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena May 12.

The team is expected to release further camp details in the coming weeks.
