Extensive Damage In Bright's Grove House Fire (VIDEO & GALLERY)

Damage to a home in Bright's Grove is extensive, following a fully involved structure fire on Eastfield Close Monday morning.

Sarnia Fire and Rescue Platoon Chief Brad Allen says crews from three stations rushed to the home at mid-morning.

"Reports were that nobody was home and we immediately started a defence attack, due to the nature of what we were facing," says Allen. "From the amount of damage we have here, I would assume it was undetected for quite some time. The roof is gone. Obviously, there's a lot of damage to the interior as well."

Allen says a family pet did not survive.

The cause of the blaze is being investigated and an estimate of the damage is not yet available.

"We're going to be doing a full investigation with our Fire Prevention Officers once we determine that it's safe to enter and all of the hot spots are out," says Allen.
