Propane Tanker Driver Busted For Impaired Driving

A tractor-trailer driver is facing impaired driving charges after a vehicle was seen driving erratically on Hwy. 402 in Warwick Township.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Monday around 10am, officers received a report from a concerned motorist about a Peterbilt tractor, which was towing a dual trailer containing 63,500 kg of propane, that was being driven erratically on the highway near Mandaumin Rd.

Police located the vehicle in the eastbound lanes near Nauvoo Rd. and the driver was arrested after a breathalyzer test showed he was nearly three times the legal limit. The tractor-trailer and its load were also seized by police.

As a result, a 38-year-old Woodstock man has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, impaired operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mg, and driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.
