City 'Sunshine Club' Grows By Just One

The number of city of Sarnia employees who made $100,000 or more in 2017 is about the same as 2016.

The total of 238 is up by just one with 85% of them being fire and police officers.

Overtime, retroactive earnings and other payments are included along with salary.

Chief Administrative Officer Margaret Misek-Evans was paid nearly $184,000, Sarnia police Chief Phil Nelson earned $178,000 and John Kingyens received $147,000 as city fire chief.

Municipalities and other taxpayer-funded organizations are required to provide the information yearly under The Public Sector Disclosure Act of 1996.
