Return of the Swans Festival Back For Another Year

Tundra swans have made their way back to the Thedford Bog right on time for the Return of the Swans Festival.

The Lambton Heritage Museum in Grand Bend will be hosting the annual event from March 10-18 to celebrate the return of the birds.

Museum curator Laurie Webb says the festival offers interpretive displays, a chance to see the swans up close, and a few new activities for 2018.

"We've partnered with the Lambton County Library Makerspace, so they're going to have staff here with some of their makerspace tools," says Webb. "People can do some activities with those different tools and they'll all be kind of based on the swans."

The swans appeared at the bog late last month with the number of birds varying from 50 to a several thousand during that time.
