Sting Denied Season Points Record In Loss To Rangers

The Sarnia Sting were denied their franchise-best 92nd point of the season in a 5-2 loss to the Rangers in Kitchener Tuesday. It was the Sting's second loss in Kitchener in as many weeks, after falling 6-3 last Tuesday.

Jordan Kyrou scored a powerplay goal and now leads the OHL with 106 points. Jonathan Ang potted a shorthanded marker.

Adam Liska, Rickard Hugg, and Nick McHugh led the way for the Rangers with a goal and an assist apiece. Connor Bunnaman and Givani Smith also scored.

The Sting were successful on all eight penalty kills but were outshot 47 to 29 on the night. With the win, the Rangers secured the Midwest Division title.

The Sting are guaranteed a third-place finish in the Western Conference standings. There are just four games remaining in the Sting's regular season, the next one is Saturday at home to Guelph.
