Plympton-Wyoming Approves New Condos, Says No To Marriage Licenses

Plympton-Wyoming continues to be one of the fastest growing municipalities in the region.

Town council approved an extension request of the Blue Point Condominiums at a council meeting on February 14.

The announcement comes less than five months after plans began to develop three large subdivisions in the area.

Mayor Lonny Napper says it an exciting time for the community.

"We certainly welcome the new growth," he says. "[Blue Point condominiums] are similar to the type of housing at Blue Water Village. It's all private roads in there and I believe it's a gated community."

Council also went against a recommendation to issue marriage licenses.

Napper says it was a close vote.

"There was some revenue involved with it for us, but the majority of council felt that the staff were busy enough," he says.

Sarnia and Petrolia are the closest areas to the town to receive a marriage license.
