Remembering Baby Redman

After experiencing a tragic loss, a Sarnia couple is giving back to the community.

In January 2017, Jenny and Bobby Redman lost their newborn baby boy due to unforeseen complications during childbirth.

In honour of their son Bowie, the Redman's are raising money for a Cuddle Cot for Bluewater Health.

Bluewater Health Foundation Executive Director Kathy Alexander says it allows parents faced with a loss a little more time.

"It's a piece of equipment that is used where there is sadly a loss of an infant, and specifically it's a medical cooling device that is concealed within a Moses basket, which really gives parents more time to say goodbye to the child that they lost," says Alexander.

She says support for the fundraiser has been overwhelming.

"In less than 24 hours, Bobby and Jenny Redman and their friends and family, and people from actually across the country -- we've had gifts from as far away as Saskatchewan -- raised $3,500 of their goal of $3,700."

As of Monday Morning, $7,471 had been raised according to the Bluewater Health Foundation.

You can still donate in honour of baby Bowie Redman by visiting the Bluewater Health Foundation's website.
