Police Release Description Of Armed Robbery Suspect

Sarnia police have released the description of a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery on January 20 around 8:30pm.

Police say the four victims were walking eastbound on Wellington St., from Mitton St., and decided to cut south through MacKenzie Lane Park. They were confronted by a man who pulled a revolver from his waistband and demanded property.

Constable John Sottosanti says the victims split off into pairs, and the suspect chased two of them and stole clothing and money.

Sottosanti says the suspect then left the area and police were contacted.

The suspect is believed to be Caucasian, and about 5’10” tall with a skinny build. He was wearing a grey hoodie, dark baggy pants, beat up old shoes, a black ski mask and toque, and a red bandana covering the lower part of his face.

The Criminal Investigation Branch has taken over the matter.
