Tough Decision For Warwick Township Council

Mayor Todd Case says they've received cost estimates for three different options for a Community Hall in Watford.

"One is the renovation of Centennial Hall, " says Case. "One is an addition on the arena and another is a stand-alone building in Watford. The pricing came in at about $250 a square foot for all three different scenarios. Council will have a special meeting sometime in January to finally get to the point where we can make a decision."

Case says the final price tag will depend on what option they choose.

"It will depend on the size of the building," he says. "Council hasn't decided at this point how big the building will be, whether it be a new or a renovated Centennial Hall. And the community seems to be split on what do to."

Case adds that it's difficult to get upper tier government funding for actual bricks and mortar projects, as most of the money is for sewer and water improvements. He says more announcements are coming for future funding and they'll see if they can take advantage of that.
