Salvation Army Delivers Hundreds Of Christmas Hampers

The Salvation Army is spreading holiday cheer to hundreds of families in need.

The generosity of Sarnia-Lambton residents has helped the agency hand out 900 gift hampers to households, including toys for 400 children with the help of CHOK's Gift of Christmas campaign.

Captain Nancy Braye says their Red Kettle Campaign continues through Saturday.

They'll be set up at various locations across Sarnia and Corunna.

"Our Kettle Campaign for 2017 is going really well," says Braye. "Our goal is $128,000 and $112,000 had been raised by this past Tuesday."

Donations to the Salvation Army's campaign include nearly $55,000 from the Pipefitters Local 663.

They've been contributing to the cause for over 20 years.
