Gymnastics Club Takes Action In Response To Brubaker Charges

The Bluewater Gymnastics Club says Dave Brubaker has been placed on indefinite unpaid leave and will not be involved in any club activities or allowed on the property at Lottie Neely Park Rd. in Sarnia.

The club's board of directors issued a statement Saturday afternoon after learning late Thursday that its Club Director had been charged with sex-related offences.

The board says it's shocked and troubled by the news and wants to assure its participants and their families that their best interests are the top priority and all necessary measures are being taken to continue programming as usual and maintain its long tradition of program excellence in a healthy and safe environment.

The club retained legal counsel immediately after hearing about the charges and says it will not be making further statements about the legal proceedings involving Brubaker.

Parents and members can contact the club by phone or by email if they have any questions.

The Bluewater Gymnastics Club is a parent-run organization with more than 700 members.
