Spirit Edge Sting 2-1

The Sarnia Sting dropped a close 2-1 decision to the Saginaw Spirit in OHL action on Wednesday.

The Spirit drew first blood with a goal 5:02 into the game, however, Sean Josling scored early in the second period to tie the game for Sarnia heading into the third.  Saginaw scored just over a minute into the final frame and held off the Sting to earn the win.

Sarnia goaltender Justin Fazio made 35 saves out of 37 shots on net.

This was the second recent close loss for the Sting against the Spirit. Back on December 2 in Saginaw, Sarnia was leading 6-0 late in the second and ended up losing 7-6 in overtime.

The Sting's leading scorer and the OHL scoring leader Jordan Kyrou was also absent from Wednesday's lineup, as he attends the Canadian World Junior Jockey selection camp in St. Catharines.

The Sting are in London on Friday to take on the Knights at 7:30pm.
