Arena Upgrades Included In November Building PermitsDecember 7, 2017 1:23pm
The numbers are pretty impressive and perhaps indicative of an improving economy locally.
41 building permits were issued at City Hall in November, worth $5.5-million.
That pushes the year-to-date total to over $104-million worth of new construction, compared to $69-million at the end of November of 2016.
The $5.5-million includes a $1-million permit for renovations to Sarnia Arena.
Styrolution Canada, which supplies styrene to NOVA’s polystyrene operations, applied for $1-million in permits for demolition and construction work at its Tashmoo Ave. Styrene II facility.
$300,000 will be spent on the former RONA Cashway building on Confederation to transform 1,500 sq ft of the 3,000 sq ft into a new Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant.
