Christmas Activities Over The Weekend

The Seaway Kiwanis Children's Animal Farm at Canatara Park will be alive with the sights and sounds of Christmas.

Christmas on the Farm runs from 5:30pm until 9pm Friday, December 1, and 10am until 2pm Saturday, December 2.

You can take a horse and carriage ride, roast chestnuts over an open fire, sip on hot apple cider or hot chocolate and watch ice carving demonstrations.

There's also a children's craft area and cookie decorating.

Santa drops by for a special visit Saturday at 1pm.

Victoria Park in downtown Petrolia will come alive with the sights and sounds of Christmas on Friday, December 1.

Christmas in the Park begins at 6pm with opening ceremonies, and the tree lighting. You're asked to bring along a homemade or a non-returnable ornament to hang on the trees.

There will be hot beverages, cookies, music and a live Nativity Scene.

The event is a prelude to Petrolia's Santa Claus Parade at 2pm Saturday.

It's the eighth annual "Christmas in the Village" in Point Edward Saturday, December 2.

The event is on from 11am until 2pm.

You can vote on your favourite Christmas tree, enjoy free sandwiches at the Point Edward Community Hall or free hot chocolate and cookies at the Fire Hall.

St Paul's Anglican Church is hosting a craft sale and there will be a gingerbread competition at the Point Edward Early Learning Centre.

St. Patrick's High School students and staff will be going door to door collecting non-perishables in their annual Irish Miracle.

Donations help fill hampers to be distributed by the Saint Vincent de Paul Society.

You're asked to place donations outside your door between 9am and noon to help expedite collection.
