MADD Collects $14K And A Diamond Ring In Voluntary Tolls

Someone in Sarnia-Lambton is missing a diamond ring and the local MADD chapter wants to return it.

Carol Parsley, the administration assistant for Sarnia-Lambton Mothers Against Drunk Driving, says they collected $14,000 in their voluntary tolls over the weekend -- and one diamond ring.

"I'm not really sure if it would be an engagement ring or a wedding ring," says Parsley. "It's just something that we feel is very special to somebody and that they would like to have it back."

She says the ring was found in a bucket as they were sorting and counting their donations.

While they have no idea which location it could have come from, she bets it either slipped off the hand of someone making a donation, or that it was thrown in mistakenly by someone emptying their change purse or vehicle console.

"We collect throughout the county, so we had some locations in the county as well as throughout the city at various retail parking lots," says Parsley. "If anyone is aware that they did lose it, they can contact our office and give us a description of the ring that they're talking about. If it matches what we have then we would certainly like to give it back to the owner."

If you think the ring is yours, you're urged to call MADD Sarnia-Lambton at 519-339-9962.
