WANTED: Horn Players

The Colts Drum Line is recruiting horn players for the upcoming holiday season.

The group has booked seven Christmas parades and is in discussions with the organizers of two more.

Traditionally, Director Shawn Bryan says the drum line would recruit horn players from the St. Clair High School music program to play Christmas Carols during the parades -- transforming the drum line into a full marching band.

"We didn't have a horn line last year because that was our first year independent, so we're trying to get back to adding a horn line for the Christmas parades," says Bryan.

He says they've secured an experienced band instructor and sheet music, but brass and woodwind players will be required to bring their own instrument.

The group practices Thursday evenings at 6:30pm at Community of Christ Church on Leckie Dr.

Their parade circuit begins with the Christmas parade in London November 18, followed by appearances throughout Lambton County and Sarnia's evening parade December 2.

Anyone, of any age, who's interested in playing a horn and marching with the band is asked to contact the group.

You can email the drum line at ColtsDrumLine@outlook.com, message the group on Facebook or call Bryan at 226-886-0712.
