Impaired Driver Crashes Into Bush

A 67-year-old Corunna man is facing impaired charges after driving his car into a bush in Huron County Friday afternoon.

Around 1:50pm, Huron OPP received information about a possible impaired driver that had driven into the woods just off of Wildlife Line.

Officers arrived a few minutes later and spotted a Hyundai Elantra just off of a dirt road access point into the Hullett Provincial Wildlife Area. Police say the driver had driven off the roadway into brush area and showed signs of impairment.

He was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment, where breath samples registered over the legal limit.

The man is charged with impaired care and control, as well as care and control with over 80 mg of alcohol.

He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 20, 2017. He also received an automatic 90-day driver's licence suspension and his vehicle was towed and impounded.
