The one week long strike by Lambton College faculty has claimed its first victim.
College spokesperson Cindy Buchanan says the Lambton College Foundation had to cancel a weekend event that involved staff and students.
"The Corks & Caps event was cancelled on Saturday," says Buchanan. "That was a college foundation event that very much involved faculty and students. Any events that involve faculty and students, we have been cancelling."
Buchanan adds construction on a new Health & Research Centre and an Athletics and Fitness complex is on schedule, although she says there was minimal impact the first two days of the picketing.
205 Lambton faculty are among the 12,000 province wide who walked off the job Monday, October 16. Close to half a million students are affected including 10,000 at Lambton.
Buchanan adds they will have student information updates provided by student services on Thursday, October 26 and Friday, October 27.
