Sting Forward Named OHL Player Of The Week

The Sarnia Sting are one of the hottest teams in the Ontario Hockey League, and have one of the league's most dangerous offences.

That was evident during Sarnia's most recent three win weekend, where they outscored their opponents 17-4. Brady Hinz enjoyed a big weekend as well, scoring five goals goals and seven points throughout the three games. He also had a goal and an assist during Sarnia's Thanksgiving win over Hamilton last Monday.

That four game output earned him the OHL Player of the Week Honours Monday afternoon.

The Stratford native is in his second season with the Sarnia Sting, and is eligible for the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Hinz leads the Sting with nine goals, just one back of the OHL leader.

Sarnia selected Hinz in the third round, 52nd overall, in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.

The Sting are averaging more than five goals per game during the early going, and boast a league best 9-1 record. The team hits the road this weekend for their annual Northern trip, with a game in North Bay Thursday, Sudbury Friday and Barrie on Saturday
