Rotary Sarnia Raises Funds For Caribbean CounterpartOctober 3, 2017 11:20am
The Rotary Club of Sarnia is doing its part to help those impacted by the devastating hurricane in the Caribbean.
The club has donated $16,000 to the relief effort, with proceeds generated from a lasagna dinner at DeGroot’s Nurseries.
Spokesman Mike Elliott says helping out is part of their mandate as a club.
“We like to think of ourselves as people of action,” says Elliott. “We were able to take something and quickly turn it into real money with the power of matching funds. Getting together and doing good things is absolutely what Rotary is all about.”
The money will go directly to Rotary District 7020 which is based in the Caribbean.
Elliott thanks Cosmo’s Famiy Restaurant for supplying the food.
