Sarnia Sting Unveil Plans For New Scoreboard At PASA

The home of the Sarnia Sting is about to get a major facelift.

The club has finalized a deal with OES Scoreboards for the purchase and installation of a brand new LED scoreboard along with a 400 ft power-ring in the Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

“The investment demonstrates that Sting ownership are committed to keeping OHL hockey in the city of Sarnia,” says club President Bill Abercrombie. “We’re trying to be proactive, and this will really increase the fan experience.”

Abercrombie went on to say that these improvements will allow the organization to appeal to more sponsors and generate greater revenue for the team.

OES is based out of London, and has been generating scoreboards for pro teams for nearly 40 years.

Spokesperson Dana Plante says “there’s really not a limit to how creative you can be with the displays.” In her opinion, this will absolutely be the best scoreboard in the OHL, at least for the time being.

The upgrades will cost north of $500,000, and will be completely paid for by the Sting organization.

Fans can expect to see the flashy new technology December 28 against the Windsor Spitfires.
