Alleged Peeping Tom Arrested

Police have arrested an alleged peeping tom following an incident at a home in the central part of the city, earlier this week.

Sarnia police were called after reports of a man lurking around a home and peering through the window early Sunday morning and again Monday night.

Constable John Sottosanti says two daughters in the basement were startled by a man looking through the window around 4am Sunday, however police were not called.

He says police were notified after the same man was seen peering through one of the daughters basement bedroom windows, around 9:15pm Monday. Constable Sottosanti says members of the family ran out of the home attempting to locate the man, but were unsuccessful.

He says the family had set up surveillance cameras after the initial incident and captured the suspect on video.

Police were able to identify a 31-year-old suspect who was arrested without incident Tuesday at his home.

He's charged with voyeurism, trespass at night, break and enter, indecent act and mischief over $5,000.

The investigation is ongoing and his name has not yet been released.
