City Accepting Accessibility Award Nominations

Nominations for this year's Accessibility Awards are being accepted.

The city recognizes local businesses and individuals who go above and beyond for those with disabilities.

Sarnia's Accessibility Coordinator Dale Mosley says the awards are in their fifth year and nominations have always been steady.

"There is criteria they have to follow," says Mosley. "Sometimes they would be eliminated based on the criteria. Our Sarnia Accessibility Advisory Committee chooses who wins, based on the person's nomination. The more descriptive you are of why a person should be awarded, the better."

Nominations are being accepted until September 8, and the awards will be handed out during Sarnia City Council's meeting October 2.

Past recipients include Dan Edwards, Boston Pizza, One Tooth Active Wear and Dr. Larry Soden.
