NOVA Chemicals' St. Clair River facility is going offline for maintenance.
According to a news release, the facility shuts down Saturday for a scheduled turnaround and will remain offline until the end of October.
NOVA spokesperson Meaghan Kreeft says during the first couple of days of the outage, elevated flaring and some increased noise are expected. There will be increased traffic in the area, specifically between the hours of 6am and 8am, and between 5pm and 7pm for the duration of the turnaround.
Sarnia-Lambton residents can receive updates on activity at the facility by calling 1-800-4-SARNIA (1-800-472-7642). The phone line runs 24/7 and will play pre-recorded messages providing updates and information on industry activity.
