Downtown Sarnia Goes Greek

The 11th annual Sarnia Greekfest is on this weekend in the city's downtown.

Event Coordinator Ashley Tanguay says 2017 marks a year of growth for the festival.

"It's the third year the event is being held in downtown Sarnia, right across from the Imperial Theatre," says Tanguay. "In the past it has taken place in the municipal parking lot, but this year we've actually expanded the festival grounds so it's going to be out on to Christina St. as well. It allows the festival to grow and offer some new activities."

Tanguay says they've added a kid zone and different vendors to the list of activities on top of the traditional food, music and dancing.

The downtown party begins Friday, August 4 at 4pm and continues Saturday from noon until 11pm and Sunday from noon until 5pm.

Admission to the festival is free, however donations for St. Joseph's Hospice will be accepted.
