Police Seek Domestic Dispute Suspect

Police are looking for a suspect in a domestic dispute.

The Anishinabek Police Service says the incident occurred Saturday at a home on Lake Road in Kettle Point First Nation. Officers from the Kettle and Stony Point detachment arrived at the location in response to a domestic dispute call. They spotted a male in the rear of the house, yelling at officers and waving what police describe as a two-foot machete.

After a short standoff, police say the man dropped the weapon and fled the area on foot.

The Anishinabek Police underwent an intensive search of the area, with the help of the Ontario Provincial Police and the OPP's canine unit. The suspect was not found as of late Saturday night.

Charges are pending in this incident and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts is asked to call the Anishinabek Police Service at (519) 786-5445 or Crime Stoppers at (519) 222-8477 (TIPS).

Police have not provided further information about the suspect including a name or description.
