Wheat harvest is in full swing with Lambton County Federation of Agriculture Grains Committee Chair Kevin Marriott saying a good portion of the acreage is off the fields despite off and on wet weather.

"So far the quality is excellent, better than what we thought it would be," says Marriott. "Yield, though, is disappointing. Last year wheat was 20% over what we thought it would be. This year it's only a good average."

Marriott adds corn and soybean crops have recovered from wet weather as well and things are looking up because of the warm weather.
