Input Needed For Future Internet Service

Lambton County residents, business owners and farmers are being asked to do their part to lay the groundwork for improved high speed internet service locally.

Warden Bill Weber is asking everyone to take part in an internet usage survey.

It's important because SouthWestern Integrated Fibre Technology Inc. (SWIFT) will use the results to help determine how to invest funding to build or improve internet infrastructure across southwestern Ontario.

"It's important that SWIFT hears from as many Lambton County residents as possible, especially if your internet service needs improvement," says Weber. "This is a tremendous opportunity for Lambton County to help shape the future of ultra-high speed internet access across our community."

At its July 5 meeting, Lambton County Council entered into a partnership agreement with SWIFT, which has received a combined $180-million in funding from the provincial and federal governments

Surveys can be found at swiftnetwork.ca/survey and if you do not have internet service you can take the survey at any Lambton County Library branch.

You are being asked to fill out the survey by August 1.
