Shred-It Event A Success

Nearly 9,000 lbs of documents were shredded during the 12th annual shred-it event in Sarnia Saturday.

City police say 460 people showed up at the Walmart parking lot off Quinn Dr. over four hours.

The purpose of the annual event is to help residents avoid identity theft.

As well over $1,600 was collected for the Special Olympics Torch Run.

The run, done by law enforcement members, helps raise money so special needs athletes can experience acceptance, achievement and admiration through sport.
