Summer Getting Off To Cool Start

It appears summer in Sarnia-Lambton will get off to a cool start this year.

The season officially arrived at 12:24am on Wednesday.

Environment Canada meteorologist Peter Kimbell says the rest of June, for the most part, will be on the cool side.

"Except for probably Thursday this week when it will be quite warm and showery," says Kimbell. "So Thursday will be a bit of an anomaly but otherwise the trend will be cooler than average for the next little while."

Kimbell says there are indications temperatures in July will be a little above average.

The summer solstice is the longest day of the year in terms of daylight.
