New Plympton-Wyoming Fire Chief On Indefinite Leave

After just six months on the job, Plympton-Wyoming's fire chief is on indefinite leave.

Sources tell BlackburnNews.com that firefighters discovered a video camera in the radio dispatch room of the Wyoming Fire Hall.

Chief Administrative Officer Carolyn Tripp confirms Steve Clemens' role is currently being filled by Camlachie Station Chief Scott Jordan.  She also says an internal investigation is underway, but won't confirm it's necessarily related to the chief's leave.

Clemens took on the job of Director of Fire and Emergency Services/Fire Chief on January 3 after having served as executive director of the Canadian Fire Alarm Association.

The Lambton Shores native also served as fire chief of the amalgamated North Middlesex Fire Department and the Township of Middlesex Centre.

He was also head of fire safety and emergency management at London's Western University and Fanshawe College.

Tripp became Plympton-Wyoming's CAO June 6 of last year.
