Four In A Row For Fecht (GALLERY)

Warren Michigan's Matt Fecht finished first in the YMCA-CHOK Bridge Race for the fourth straight year Sunday but it was not a runaway win.

Fecht crossed the finish line in the 40th running of the event in a time of 31 minutes, 47 seconds with London's Seth Marcaccio right behind at 31:52.

Fecht says this was the first time he was pushed in his streak of four consecutive wins.

"It's definitely just a great race, I ran a 10 k and a two mile yesterday and I won't be making that mistake again," says Fecht. "This race is starting to attract some really good runners again like it did before which is great for the race and personally great for me to be able to have that competition."

Croswell Michigan's Andrea Karl became a two-time female winner of the bridge race in a time of 40:53.

She says she likes the fact the race is international. "It's a pretty unique experience going over the bridge, there's not many races that do that, so it's something cool to say that you've done."

A total of 429 runners took part in the 10 km event from Pine Grove Park, Port Huron to Canatara Park. There were 75 participants in the 5 km run.

Early morning rain cleared before the 8am race start and the sun peeked out making for slightly muggy conditions.
