Artists Announced For Bluewater BorderFest

Six of eight artists taking part in this summer's inaugural Bluewater BorderFest have been announced.

The two-day July music festival at Centennial Park will include an all male lineup of country musicians.

Sarnia's own Eric Ethridge, who's debut single "Liquor's Callin' the Shots" was included in the top 40 on the Canadian country radio charts this month, is part of the Friday night lineup. Chase Bryant from Orange Grove, Texas and another yet to be announced artist will perform before headliner Frankie Ballard from Battle Creek, Michigan.

The Saturday lineup has been somewhat deemed the "Alberta Show," with Dan Davidson and Aaron Goodvin scheduled to play. Louisiana's Dylan Scott is also set to perform, but the headliner -- the biggest act of the bunch -- hasn't been announced.

PM Entertainment Group's Mark Perrin says most of the musicians offer a crossover into other genres, including rock and pop music.

"Between all of the acts, we're working with five agencies, which is kind of unheard of when putting together a concert," says Perrin. "We went after artists who we thought would be a good fit. So, it's a little different than most concerts."

Perrin thinks the event will rival nearby festivals.

"The acts are top acts with huge YouTube views and huge concert play and we're just happy to bring their talents to Sarnia for the community to enjoy," he says.

Perrin says they plan to erect a 40 ft by 40 ft stage.

"That basically goes along with the artists requirements," he says. "It will be kind of the same setup that's been in there [Centennial Park] before, with the stage facing the hill so people can watch on the hillside, but at the same time spectators and attendees can look out at the water and enjoy the sunset."

Support acts and free kids activities are also being planned for the "Suncor Agora," the new outdoor stage and gathering area in Centennial Park.

Tickets for the event, Friday July 28 and Saturday July 29, are expected to go on sale Monday.

The price for a weekend pass will cost around $120.
