Two projects aimed at benefitting residents in Lambton County have received support from The Judith & Norman Alix Foundation.
A $40,000 donation to Sarnia-Lambton's Women's Interval Home, for the purchase of a van, was recently approved by the foundations board.
$50,000 will also be directed to the Town of Plympton-Wyoming for enhancements to Arnold Minielly Park in Camlachie.
Foundation Vice-President Adam Alix says a number of applications were received.
"For this round of applications we had 24 in total, which is a great number," says Alix. "We like to see that kind of participation. The projects ranged in every type and in all areas of the county, which is nice to see as well."
Alix says applications for the next round of funding are due by October 1.
"We have two intakes each year," says Alix. "The spring intake ends April 1 and then do another intake of applications at the end of the year."
The foundation only considers requests for capital projects.
