Sting Forward Among OHL Top Rookies

Sarnia Sting forward Adam Ruzicka has been named to the Ontario Hockey League's second rookie team in a poll of league General Managers.

The first year centre scored 25 goals and added 21 assists in 61 games.

He was a finalist for the Emms Family Award, given to the OHL's top rookie. That was awarded two former first overall pick Ryan Merkley of the Guelph Storm.

Ruzicka is currently playing for Slovakia at the World Under-18 Hockey Championship.

The 6′4″ 202 lb native of Bratislava was the OHL's top rookie for the month of February, leading all freshmen with nine goals and 12 points.

NHL Central Scouting has him ranked 37th among North American skaters ahead of the 2017 NHL Draft.

The Sting drafted Ruzicka with the 107th selection in the 2016 CHL Import Draft.
