Bluewater Regional Networks Growing

The vice president of Bluewater Regional Networks says they have now installed 10 km of end-to-end high-speed fibre connectivity to a growing number of community partners.

Chris Gould says they continue to grow along major thoroughfares in Sarnia and Point Edward, providing 1 Gbps service at the fastest internet speeds in Ontario.

"What we're trying to do is build a network community, not simply signing customers and delivering them service packages," says Gould. "We're actually looking at them as partners. It has been an incredible learning experience for Bluewater Regional Networks. We have over ten active contracts and several more in the negotiation stage."

He says the company, a subsidiary of Bluewater Power formed in 2016, is trying to determine where the biggest customer desire is and then target that area.

"One of the biggest things we battle is requests from prospective partners, asking when they can sign up," says Gould. "It's a strategic approach to building the network and earning some revenue in order to continue to grow. Each partner that joins the network helps us to improve our reach."

He says they offer immediate customer service, employing local individuals.
