Sarnia Cheerleaders Heading To Disney

Sarnia's Bluewater Cheer Athletics is the first gym in Canada to send five teams to The Summit cheerleading competition.

The event, considered the Olympics of cheerleading, is set for May at Disney World in Florida.

Co-Owner Jodie Bore knows they'll be in tough but says they're up for the challenge.

"It's a tough, tough competition. Our teams are going to be against 40 to 50 other teams that have also earned their bid," says Bore. "Based on that, three teams make it to the next round. It's the teams that we look up to and want to be. We look at their owners and coaches and our jaws drop when we see them at competitions. We're just so admiring of them and what they've been able to create, and we've always wanted to follow in their footsteps and create that. So, there's a lot of pride that we've been able to do that."

The club needs financial help to get to The Summit. It costs over $60,000 to send the teams to the event.
