Lots To Do On Family Day

The Sarnia Sting has partnered with RBC Bank for some festivities at the upcoming Family Day game against Saginaw on February 20.

Sting Marketing Coordinator Dach Hiller says there are some good deals for families.

"Tickets for kids 12 and under are only $6 that day," says  Hiller. "We do a post game skate with the team. RBC is going to be supplying some hot chocolate and signature cards. It's a lot of fun for the kids."

Hiller says RBC will have a kiosk set up on the concourse, where fans can have a chance to win tickets to the 2018 World Junior Championship in Buffalo. The game kicks off at 2pm.

There is free Family Day skating at Sarnia's Clearwater Arena from 1pm-3pm.

Feel like swimming? You can visit the YMCA Jerry McCaw Family Centre in Sarnia for free on Monday.

Do your kids like PJ Masks? You can meet your favourite characters from the show at Lambton Mall between noon and 4pm. There will also be balloons and free face painting.

The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery has activities planned from 1-4pm on Family Day. Films will be shown in the lecture theatre, children can make family portraits and even go on an art scavenger hunt.

In Pt. Edward, there is a free Family Day Skate at the Point Edward Arena from 1:30pm-2:30pm.

Petrolia is also celebrating Family Day in style.

Community Services Director Dave Menzies says events take place at the Greenwood Recreation Centre and the Oil Heritage District Community Centre.

"We have free public skating at the arena," says  Menzies. "At the community centre we have bouncy castles and games from 11am-3pm."

There will be free swimming from 10am-12pm and 1pm-4pm and the Lambton Central Optimist Club will be barbecuing hot dogs for a nominal fee.
