Spitfires Double Sting 6-3

A third period rally pushed the Windsor Spitfires to a 6-3 win over the Sarnia Sting on Thursday.

Gabriel Vilardi started the scoring off early with a goal 1:10 into the first period, but the Sting's Jeff King scored 17:51 into frame to tie things up going into the second.

Mikhail Sergachev scored for the Spitfires two minutes into the second, but Jordan Ernst scored for Sarnia to tie things again at 2-2.  Jeremiah Addison gave the lead back to Windsor with one more goal in the second frame.

Sarnia tied the game once again thanks to a goal by Drake Rymsha 38 seconds into the third, however, Aaron Luchuk, Logan Brown and Graham Knott all scored back-to-back goals to earn the win for Windsor.

Windsor goaltender Michael DiPietro made 22 saves out of 25 shots on net.

The Sting will battle the Firebirds next in Flint on Saturday at 7pm. Also on Saturday, the Spitfires will take on the Guelph Storm at 7:05pm at the WFCU Centre.
